Pyrmont Cares Furniture Donation Offer Form

Pyrmont Cares needs the items listed below and will collect them on Tuesdays 9:00am-12:00pm.
The furniture will be used by those who obtain unfurnished property and are unable to furnish it themselves. This includes refugees, ex-homeless persons, victims of domestic violence and those released from detention.
The self respect of these people is important, so please do not offer substandard items.

Please note that we do not accept TVs that do not properly pick up all free-to-air channels, washing machines, mattresses, beds, sofa beds, wardrobes or items with glass or mirrors.

We consider a set of more than 4 steps to be a flight of stairs. Are we picking up from a location where furniture or whitegoods must be carried up or down one or more flights of stairs?

PHOTOGRAPHS: This form has no provision to upload photographs of the goods offered. However, after submitting the form you will receive a confirmation email, and you will be invited to reply to that email, attaching photographs of your goods.

IMPORTANT NOTE RE STAIRS: Under no circumstances are our volunteers to carry any furniture or whitegoods up or down stairs (we consider a set of more than 4 steps to be a flight of stairs).

If you have stairs and no lift, let us know arrangements can you make to bring the items to ground/access floor. Please list any other special instructions, including information about access to the building and where to collect items.

Note that our truck cannot enter parking areas with less than 3.2 metres clearance.

Items for donation
Pyrmont Cares only accepts clean, working items that do not need repair. Please contact your local council's collection line for non-working or damaged items. If you are in the City of Sydney council area you can book a council pickup for these items at http://www.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au/live/waste-and-recycling/book-a-pick-up We do not collect washing machines, mattresses, beds, sofa beds or bed frames. Please call your local council to arrange for their collection. We do not collect items whose maximum length or height exceeds 1.8 metres.

Living Room Items
No item, especially lounges, should be longer than 1.8 metres. We do not accept modular lounges since they are too large for our clients. We do not accept furniture with glass or mirrors. Televisions must be flatscreen (not curved), not more than 55 inches and able to pick up picture and sound of high definition free-to-air TV channels (such as 7 Mate) when connected to an antenna. They must come with a remote control. Wall mounted TVs are OK as we can fit a stand, but no plasma TVs please since the heavy power usage makes them unsuitable for our clients.
